The One Minute Breathing Video

We want our automatic response to stress to be a deep calming breath, right? In order for that to happen we need to practice this. I often use this video to help guide people through a minute of deep breathing. I love the simpleness of it. Try it yourself. Play this video and focus on your breath for one minute. Notice what happens. Refrain from judging and just notice.

Now imagine using it in your classroom. What would happen if before you handed out a test you showed this video and had students breath for one minute. Or what about when kids came in from lunch or recess before you transitioned to your math lesson. Or maybe even for yourself, at the end of a long day before heading off to a faculty meeting. It takes just one minute. 60 seconds. Just ry it and see what you think!
