A Dive Into Flow

 Tags: ,

Over the course of the next few blog posts, we are going to explore this idea of flow. As Elena shares in the opening to this section in Onward, The most glorious, exquisite, sublime state of being I’ve experienced is called flow. It’s a state in which I’m doing something creative, and I lose track of time and feel as though I’m in a trance; the words (for it’s often when I’m writing) tumble out of my mind and heart and perhaps from somewhere else, somewhere beyond me, and effortlessly put onto the page, leaving me energized and alive.

Sign me up, Right? The state of flow is pretty amazing. This idea was first introduced by positive psychologist Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi. Watch his TED Talk: Flow, The Secret to Happiness to get an even better idea of flow.
