The Advice Kobe Would Give His Younger Self

 Tags: ,

As this month winds down and I share this last post about compassion, our habit of the month here at Onward, I thought it only fitting to share Kobe Bryant’s take on the need for empathy and compassion in our lives.

Kobe, NBA basketball legend, and his daughter Gianna were killed in a helicopter crash yesterday. John, Kerri, and Alyssa Altobelli, Christina Mauser, Sarah and Payton Chester and Ara Zobayan were also killed in that crash. Today I found myself watching videos and reading articles about Kobe. And I came across this one that connects to the work that we are doing here with compassion. In Kobe talks evolution of empathy, understanding for teammates, Kobe shares that his advice to his younger self would be understand compassion and empathy more.

What are you doing to approach those that you work with with more empathy and compassion? Over these last 24 hours, I have thought a lot about just how precious life is. And how I want to live life compassionately and with no regrets. Thanks Kobe.
