Yoga to Reset Your Perspective

This month we focus in on the disposition of perspective as we explore ways to cultivate our compassion and ultimately boost our resilience.

In Chapter 8 of Onward, Elena Aguilar shares how a wider perspective leads to equanimity, helps you empathize with and connect to others, and enable you to access strength and creativity to respond to a problem. Perspective can help you recognize what is in your sphere of influence and what is outside your control. This cultivates a greater sense of humility, acceptance and even humor.

For the past 15 years, my yoga mat has been my refuge and provided me comfort when needed. Yoga has taught me to breath more deeply and have more self-compassion. It has taught me so much about perspective and what is in my sphere of influence and outside my control. If you already practice yoga, I’m sure you feel much the same about this practice. If you are new to yoga, I offer you this sequence from Yoga Journal: 30-Minute Beginner Sequence to Reset Your Perspective on Life. This sequence will get you started with some basics and hopefully be the inspiration you need to continue to grow your yoga practice.
