Self-care Through Your Breath

Last month’s focus was on the habit of Be Here Now, and we shared a lot of resources on meditation and breath work. There is a lot of cross over with the habit for this month, Take Care of Yourself. One of the best ways to practice self-care is to understand the potential that your breath holds. When we learn to use our breath in an empowering way, we will begin to thrive in ways we never thought possible.

There is a new study out that actually links nasal breathing to cognitive function. Read Your Brain is Your Breath’s Remote Control and take 5 minutes out of your day to practice the breathing meditation that is offered at the end of the article. And then repeat this breathing meditation for the rest of November making note of the changes that you notice.

If you haven’t started yet and are ready to dive into more meditation for this month of self-care, check out the meditations that are shared on our resources tab. Give yourself the gift of breath.
